Welcome to IOBAT’s documentation!

IOBAT, short for Input/Output Behavior Analysis Toolkit, is a collection of tools to help understand I/O behavior of, for example, scientific workflows run on supercomputers and other high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

The diverse and nested nature of modern scientific applications, while enabling many interesting new capabilities, also make them much harder to inspect and debug when it comes to how they are utilizing I/O and storage services.

IOBAT in particular helps developers and researchers to associate and visualize different workflow artifacts interactively but also programatically.
